The temperatures in the Carolinas are beginning to cool, the leaves are beginning to change colors and fall, and the grapes have been harvested at many of the vineyards.
In talking with winemakers and vineyard owners in the Yadkin Valley, this year’s harvest came in quickly, ending a little earlier than a few years past. But they said the quality of the grapes and the wines derived from them remain excellent for tasting.
In this edition of On The Vine, we welcome you to enjoy learning about how grapes are incorporated in the spirits industry, as evident by the gluten-free options of WRC Distillery; and how art work is an excellent complement to the wines of Germanton Vineyard and Winery.
A sneak peak of Misty Creek Vineyards’ history and offerings can be perused, and suggestions for holiday — or year-round — gift ideas for the wine lovers in your life can be found.
So we welcome you to sit back, relax with a glass of Carolina wine from one of our many vineyards and wineries, or a cocktail made with grape-based spirits, and enjoy this edition of On The Vine.
Until next time,
Wendy Byerly Wood
